This class is your entree to more professional portrait and event photography, understanding visual composition, and finding fabulous environments to photograph people and pets.
Required for class
- Digital single lens reflex camera – this is not a class for smart phone photography.
- Laptop computer.
- Adobe Photography Plan – 7-day free trial, then $10 a month – includes Lightroom and Photoshop.
What you will learn
- Understand how your camera works – shutter speed, aperture, ISO, white balance, focus.
- How to position for best natural light and how to use basic photo lighting.
- How to pose your subjects so they don’t look posed.
About the instructor
Lynsey Strader is a self-taught, natural light photographer, and has been a professional photographer since 2018. She has traveled internationally to photograph weddings, and has been published in multiple magazines including South Sound Business. She has curated and designed several styled shoots; her favorite was a large wedding photography workshop at a Texas castle. She loves to teach and mentor other photographers, and believes in community over competition. She currently runs her own in-home studio and has dreams of opening a local creative space for photographers and other artists. She lives in Dupont with her husband, four kids and two dogs, and enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest. More about Lynsey’s work.
